Ooooh. Yay, a creative writing assignment. Something good and fun to get the semester started off with! Wrong. Wrong. I was so wrong. Description is all that is allowed. That’s right folks, “There is a cabinet with some Aunt Jemima sitting on the bottom shelf. The Syrup looks brown” is all that I’m allowed to do. Not fun. Just descriptions. I get it, I see the point, but it’s just so heartbreaking when I was thinking about all the fun I could have writing a creative description of my decrepit kitchen. However, I refuse to be beaten. I will find a way to have fun doing this, and be creative without being creative. I’ve decided to put things that do not belong in the kitchen in the kitchen, so technically I’m still doing what the assignment says, but I get to describe things that are a lot more fun than Tang and pasta sauce.
